Gro-Clocks — How do they help toddlers sleep?

0

Does your toddler wake you up in the middle of the night or at 5 a.m. because they think it is morning?  If that is the case, you’re going to love how the Gro-Clock can help keep your youngsters in bed longer.  The is a glowing screen on the Gro-Clock that shows images of starts and sun to let those who are too young to read a clock know the difference between when it is time to be sleeping and when it is time to wake up.  There are small stars that disappear one-by-one throughout the night showing the passage of time.

Because the images change, children are encouraged to stay in bed longer while they are learning to stay in bed until they see the sun.  It is very quiet so that the child is able to continue sleeping even as the display changes.  You are able to adjust the screen brightness choosing the best amount of light which also makes it a wonderful nightlight.

As the child grows older, there is an educational feature that allows you to decide whether to display the digital clock even during the stars to sun countdown.  Older children are not able to learn to tell digital time even while they watch for the arrival of the sun on the clock.

This is just a wonderful way to “teach” young toddlers when it is time to go to sleep and when it is time to be awake.  If they should awaken during the night and see that their very own “clock” is still showing stars, it helps them realize that they need to go back to sleep—it is NOT morning yet.  You get to sleep longer and have a much better day.
